...well, for me it is. I got up here last night, so Wednesday was my Monday. Yeah, It's nice. I was writing up some stuff, and accidentally put up that today was Monday. Whoops. Oh well.
Today was the weekly staff meeting. I talked for a little bit about mine and Holly's housing situation. We ended up deciding that it was a good idea to put it up in the weekly Connecting Weekly church newsletter thing.
My picture is at the top of the e-mail newsletter, with an explanation of the housing situation for us. Hopefully this leads to a place for us. During the staff meeting, we talked about the church budget. Whew, I'm glad I'm not in charge of this stuff. Sounds like a lot of stress. The church is not immune to how bad the economy is. I got a whiff of that today. I got to see the side of church that most people don't see... and something that I haven't seen in my previous internships. It was a good experience.
I wrote out a checklist of things to do, day-by-day, for the next 4 days. I created the curriculum schedule for the summer, along with verses and simplified ideas for the "Wake Up" curriculum that I'll be smashing into one week for Camp Timberlake. Whew. That was a bad sentence.
Side note: one of the dogs just farted. Wow. Stinky. Really, really stinky. Oh, one of them ate my socks today, at least that's what Kyle thinks. I wasn't here, but a sock is missing. Kyle said he saw the other sock in the middle of the living room... which was placed there by Heidi, we guessed. I sure hope that I don't have to see Heidi attempt to poop that thing out. Hopefully she didn't eat it, and just hid it somewhere. Bah... regardless, I'm not going to wear that sock again. Maybe.
Um, where was I? Oh yeah, Garet and I went to lunch after I did the curriculum thing. I did the Wake Up stuff after lunch. I also created a personal calendar. I printed all this stuff out, sorted it out then put stuff up on my bulletin board. I'm getting really close to being completely finished with the list I originally made last week. I think Joy will be pleased with what I got done. We'll see.
Garet is gone tomorrow, then Friday is his last day. He's ready for something new, and I wish we could have shared an office longer, but that's just how it goes. I'm happy for him to actually have a youth ministry to go work in. He'll go do well there.
Ok, I'm tired. Gonna talk to the wife on the phone for a few, then go to sleep, and get back to work tomorrow. I think I'll get more done tomorrow. I hope it's not such a nasty day outside as well. Raining and 50 degrees is poo. I thought I was starting my job here in May... the beginning of the summer... not November, the beginning of winter. This weather is doo doo. Ok, no more blah blah. Goodnight.
