Moving Monday. Whew...

Today, Holly and I slept in (yes!)... but it wasn't necessarily what we needed to do. Holly was feeling sick, maybe strep throat or allergies or something... but she was NOT feeling well at all. Coughing all over the place like she's going to lose a lung. Not good.

Regardless, I made the decision to start packing things like a mad man. I saw on the weather channel website that it was supposed to rain all day Tuesday. Wait, Tuesday is when we planned on packing up the back of Rob's (Holly's dad) truck and drive up to Lincoln. Forecast says: Rain, rain rain rain. For the next 3 days. Crap.

So, in a crazy mad dash, Holly and I started packing things in both of our cars. We drove to her parents place to drop off what we had in our cars. I left my car there, taking Rob's work truck back to Manhattan with me. We packed that truck at about 10:00pm, with the awesome help of Rocky, Kasey, and Brandon. Those guys were clutch, and showed up like Superman... ehm... SupermEn. It helped a ton to have them carry the couch and the bed down the stairs, then help me get it tied down in the truck. Thanks guys! (note: the picture has, from left to right, Brandon, Cleigh, Kasey, and Rocky. Cleigh didn't help. He's a loser.)

Holly wanted to come with me to Lincoln, despite me thinking that it would be best if she just stayed and slept to help her get over her illness. Still, she came, and I'm happy she did. Honestly, I don't think she did herself any favors, health-wise, by coming to Lincoln with me... but it was nice to have her company on the 2.5 hour drive to Lincoln. We left Manhattan at around 11:15pm.

Lincoln arrival time: 2:00am. Awesome. We made it, tired, sore, and stinky... but we made it up there. Holly and I summoned enough strength and energy to move the stuff out of the back of the truck and into the church. Joy said we could store some of our things in one of the kid's craft rooms. After getting everything moved into the room and covering it up so it wasn't just sitting there for someone to mess with or take... we headed over to the Blythe's for the night. Sleep time: 3:00am.

It was a rough night's sleep, mainly because I was thinking about all that needed to get moved, get done at work, paperwork and insurance and money money money and the stupid oil spill. Jokingly, I blamed Obama, and felt at ease.

And that raps up what happened on Monday. Manhattan to Lincoln moving experience: Part 2 coming tomorrow.
