It's time to move!
Holly and I slept a little longer than we thought we would, but that's ok. We slept in the living room on our blow-up mattress. We've already moved our bed to Lincoln, and we both figured we wouldn't sleep well, and not sleep in. Um, we were a little wrong. We both slept like rocks, and woke up around noon. That was nice.
Immediately after waking up and showering, we started packing... and boy, did we start packing! We got everything that we would store at Holly's parents, packed them in both our cars, then we drove over to Maple Hill.
After unpacking and talking to Holly's mom for just a little bit, we drove back to Manhattan. It's time to pack and clean up for the final time. We got all of our junk together, packed it all up in the cars, and called Rahim, our landlord. He couldn't come over to say goodbye or check us out of the apartment... but he wished us good luck, and next time we're down in Manhattan, he'll give us our deposit check. That'll be a nice $560 boost when it comes!
Ahhh, the memories from the apartment. We've been here for 2 years. It's tough to leave, but we are ready to move on with our lives. I don't think we'll miss the bats, rats, stairs, constant A/C running, small kitchen, and the overall stink of the place... but the memories we've made have been great. Bat attacks, surprise parties, friends, family, and the first two years of our marriage... those will be the memories. I'm glad we're moving on, and I am glad to be out of the apartment... but I am thankful for the memories. Thank you old, run-down apartment.
We drove up to Lincoln and crashed at the Porter's. We'll move our things inside tomorrow. Tonight, we'll just relax. Tomorrow, I have to work. I'm going to work tomorrow even though no one else that is main staff will be working. The reason: so that when my dad gets here tomorrow (around 5pm), I can be at the church. Also, I'll take my day off on Wednesday so that I can help my dad with the Beyer's basement.
It'll be a busy day tomorrow. Work all day, then my dad gets here. We'll probably eat, then go over to the Beyer's so that my dad can check out the place. Alright, I'm out. L-ate-rrr...
