July 25 - August 1

Well, now that VBS is over, that concludes the heavy lifting for the summer. Looking back, it was a little bit crazy, but it's done! I learned a lot about spacing summer events, as well as not over-stuffing the calendar, just to fill it to look busy. It's not always about quantity. In fact, I believe that only very sparingly should it be about quantity.
I've always thought that you shouldn't do a ton of things, and they be half-way good... but that you should do a couple things, and do them VERY well.

This week meant me working on a gameshow for the final week in our Sunday curriculum. We had a little party for the final Sunday of the summer, and we played Jeopardy! I made little gameshow buzzers, rigged up to connect to the computer to a projector to show who buzzed in first. It was a little techy, but I do what I do when I do what I do. The kids really liked the neat look for the game, and the boys WON... by accident. The girls team obviously didn't know how to "place a wager" on Final Jeopardy... betting $2. That's right... 2, two, dos dolloras. It was fun, and the kids had a good review of what they had learned throughout the summer. We hit on subjects such as: VBS, Camp Timberlake, Kid's Live Kamp, Wake Up, Pair O' Bulls, and RANDOM. I might've enjoyed it more than the kids.

I'm glad the summer has come to an end. It has been draining on all accounts, and I'm hoping relationships can start to grow as the routine of school sets in.
