Friday! Fun day? Nah...

It's time to prep it all for camp! Let's make copies. Let's finish editing videos. Let's make a checklist of things to bring. Let's do this. And the sweeping. And the mopping. They always keep me hopping.

Today was a day of final arrangements and figuring out all the "rest" for camp. I talked to Joy for a little bit, got some things hammered out. I now understand a few things about camp a little better now. I feel confident heading into camp. It's going to be crazy, as it usually is, but we'll be doing fine. I've been to plenty of camps before, but I've never had to create almost everything for it... curriculum, devos, booklets, guides, large guides, schedules, challenges, music, dances, computer games, arts and crafts... dang! That list is huge! I like all the prep work I've put into it, really, but dang. I knew that all these things needed to be done for camp, and I am just appreciating the fact that I (yeah, it's on me... selfish? I think not), yes, I... have created almost everything for it. Piecing things together. Creating videos. Directing music. Holding meetings... this is what I love to do.

Through all this prep for camp, I'm finding that I love doing it. I should talk to Nathan Irwin, my home church's youth minister, and talk to him about all the camps he has put together. He truly is a mastermind at creating awesome camps. It's a talent and gift. And he's gifted, fo sho. I'd like to collaborate with him at least once to see how he does things.

Anyways! Prep. Editing, again. Small edits, but still, annoying making these little ones. Time changes. Video editing/creating. All the little things. I'm almost ready. I made copies of the booklets, both the camper booklets and the leader booklets, but didn't want to sit in the office all night putting them together, folding, stapling. You know? ...so I came home to the Porter's and Doug, Kathy and Holly helped me put them together. That helps so so much.

Band practice is tomorrow, so I made sure things were set up, and they now are. I hope things sound good for camp. I'm stressing, but it'll be over soon. I need to sleep, and I'm going to do that.

Before I sign off... Dad is F-L-Y-I-N-G on the basement. They mudded and taped today, and it's really starting to shape up in there. I visited for a little bit, but had to get back to work at the church. I'll help tomorrow. If I remember, I'll post a picture of what the basement looks like so far. Ok, now sleep.

By the way, the picture is for my dad... yes, there is a smoke detector in the basement. Plus, the picture has a double meaning... I'm on FIRE getting ready for camp! Ok... for realz, ya'll... sleep.
