June 5

Beautiful Saturday! Nom nom nom...

I slept in and shouldn't have. I got up around 11am and went over to Thomas' to help with the basement. I helped move things out of the basement, like scraps and random stuff. There wasn't much for me to do, considering I still had the videos to finish for camp.

My dad said that there wasn't much I could do, really, besides mud and tape. So, I made sure screws were all the way in the walls and ceilings. Holly and I ate lunch with the Beyer's, and we took off for band practice at 2pm.

Band practice went fine with everyone there. We went through all 5 of our songs... but it seemed rushed. The practice seemed like the guys were there just to get out of there... know what I mean? We got the songs down, but me, a perfectionist at times, likes to have things sounding great, not just mediocre and "good enough" to "get by". Blah. Oh well, it'll sound fine with all the kids singing... I just like things to sound better. That's just me... maybe.

I transferred converted video files from my church computer to my laptop so I could work on the What Happens Next? videos tonight. I need to finish them, and expected to already be done with them. I should be already done with everything prep-wise for camp, but it seems like Joy keeps piling things on.

Holly helped me make copies for the Sunday morning curriculum... for this Sunday and the next. That will be a relief to have that done. All I'll really have to do is walk in, roll out the projector cart, and let things fly. It's the first Sunday under this new format. Well, it's the same format, but at a different time... 9:30 crowd/parents instead of the 11:00 group. They know what to do, but I don't think the 9:30 parents will catch on quick. I hope they do, but it seems like they've been doing this for a long time. I just hope my volunteers show up.

Alright. I came home after transferring files to find the Porter's had almost everyone over at their house. Their niece is in town for the next 10 days. Also, the Schultz family came over, all 36 of them (kidding, it's 8), and had dinner. I ate dinner with everyone, but had to, HAD TO get the WHN? game videos done. I worked all night on them, sharing each finished one with the family, seeing how well they could do. It was fun, and I got a lot of support and encouragement from making those. The first-time feedback was good. There were laughs, and that's what I was hoping for. Good good.

Tomorrow is Sunday, and it should go smooth, but it is the first Sunday of a new curriculum and quarter. Also, it's Promotion Sunday, where everyone moves up a grade. So, it could (key word: could) go well, or it might just be absolute chaos for 3 hours. I'm placing my money on the latter, but hoping for the former. Noche.
